Current Executive Director
Timothy Moore

Timothy's mother was the first Executive Director of the foundation and he was DRAFTED at an early age to help with filing taxes and preparing annual/financial reports since the early 1990's.   As the foundation's long time accountant, the processes, history and systems were very familiar.  He was elected to the board in 2018 and became the board Chair in 2019, serving in that position until 2024.

In November of 2024, Timothy resigned from the board to become the latest Executive Director and to help guide it with the board's help in new directions which better align with how our foundation can help others as the health and insurance industries evolve over time.

It took many years working with the courts and local community leaders to establish the foundation.  An initial board of directors were identified with some still serving on the board in 2025.  The board took an IDEA and turned it into a foundation which has helped many Oldham County residents over the last 30 plus years.

The first Executive Director was Betty B. Moore.  She went on to serve in this position for over 25 years, working up until the day before her passing in August of 2019.  She used her relationships in the community and her unique gifts and personality to establish a proud history of helping folks in our county recover from the financial woes which follow medical events.  The board frequently mentions her name as how it use to... and unfortunately cannot be done anymore.

How It All Started

Our story begins almost 100 years ago.  In the 1920's health care in Oldham County was like most rural counties with the exception of bigger cities like Louisville and Cincinnati being fairly close by if you had the means to get to a city hospital.

A depression era WPA project created the hospital from which our foundation's name is derived.  The 1930's era project was a boost to the community and surrounding counties.  To read more about the funding and building of the hospital, click on the history link in our top menu.

The Mallory-Taylor Memorial Hospital served our community for over 50 years with thousands of babies born at the hospital and thousands of others healed as well.  As time progressed, a new hospital came into the community with more rooms, more services, and better options for health care.

The eventual closing of the hospital was overseen by the local court system since the funds were of a public nature.  A board was appointed to create bylaws, tax ID's, and a process to oversee the funds and eventually have local citizens benefit in some way.
