Our health plan flow...
Our health plan for Oldham County is a collection of goals to improve the health of individuals through educational opportunities, partnerships with other organizations and direct assistance. The plan provides our foundation the flexibility to work with local organizations as well as individual residents in the county.
Our plan focuses on prevention and education, helping "in the moment" of health care issues, and helping with payments for selected individuals that may qualify for assistance after the health care event(s).
We refer to this as our UP-MID-DOWN stream health plan.
Helping others ...
If you visit with various organizations in the county working with individuals in need, you can see some trends in how they work with others. Some organizations work on prevention of health care issues through programs and education. We call this UPStream activities. Others work with individuals who are in the midst of health events with medical visits, testing, counseling, dental procedures and more. We call this MIDStream activities. Still other organizations work with individuals to help pay medical bills or ongoing treatment programs. We call this DOWNStream activities.
Education & Careers
Our UPStream goals are to partner with other organizations in Oldham County to promote prevention of health care issues and to promote careers in the health care industry where the need for employees with all types of certifications and technical training is greatly desired.
Receiving care ...
Some very good organizations exist in Oldham County which help individuals obtain medical, dental and eye care. Our foundation works with these organizations to help pay for testing and other procedures when little or no other means is available for the individuals to pay. These individuals are "in the moment" of the health care event(s) and we partner with others to make a medical difference. We establish micro reimbursements to help with the dental/medical procedures needed.
Paying bills ...
Historically, our foundation has helped pay medical bills for those who could not pay. As our health care industry and health insurance industry has changed, this happens less and less. Still, there are situations where the events have happened and the bills are due. Our foundation works with individuals and other organizations to remove medical debts which sometimes accumulate.
